Malene Barnett is a nationally known textile designer. For more than a decade, she has been designing textiles and carpets for industry professionals and private label brands such as Nicole Miller, Martha Stewart, Nautica, Liz Claiborne, Nate Berkus and others. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Textile Surface Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Malene's designs surfaces that illustrate stories by incorporating motifs, figures and symbols that are indigenous to various cultures. She begins with research and combines that knowledge with her knack for choosing interesting patterns and complimentary color waves to create unique contemporary designs that reflect her love of world cultures.
