Michael started out life in Boston in 1968 for a brief moment before moving to Norwood, MA where he spent his first 10 years. From there his family moved to Keene, NH. Michael went to Portland School of Art for 2 years and dropped out to pursue full time art. He moved to Burlington, VT and became part of The Artist’s Collective, which unfortunately imploded. He showed some sculpture, sold some art... Moved back to Keene, NH and drove a truck delivering windshields. He broke a lot of windshields and, he says he was a bit of a speed demon. Michael then worked for Top Shop Screen Printing, where he learned a bunch about screen printing from owner Mitch Greenwald (taught him a thing or two). He then took a sculpture class at KSC where he met Jeff Grosner (One of his best friends and a partner at The Mountain®). Somewhere in the middle started a short lived zine called “Visual Voice”. Michael then started a T-Shirt company called Artwear™ around 1991.
