Bryony and Bloom is an award-winning studio based in London, England, creating designs inspired by wild nature. It was founded in 2013 by artist Bryony Benge-Abbott, with each design starting life as one of Bryony’s oil paintings. The primary focus of Bryony and Bloom is to create works of art that not only enhance and transform our everyday surroundings but also relate to the natural landscape.
Inspired by the world’s flora and fauna, Bryony’s paintings often take months to create before they are transformed into a collection of patterns. In the studio, Bryony plays with intriguing colour palettes and patterns to create works of art that combine bold pops of colour with intricate and sumptuous details. Once the oil paints have dried, Bryony then ‘re-imagines’ her paintings, transforming details to create a whole new collection of patterns. Specific motifs are extracted and repeated, mirrored and re-scaled to create semi-abstract designs that are still very much connected to the original inspiration behind the painting.
