Visual artist Christiane Marques focuses on patterns and floral designs, bringing out splendor in her work and evoking shared memories that are uniquely powerful. She brings to her art a vast field of interests that includes nature and history, finding everywhere she looks inspiration for her work.
Canadian, Christiane was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. Her heritage is Portuguese, Italian, and Greek, and she finds in each of these parts of her background elements to incorporate into her visual art, which has been described on numerous occasions as vibrantly colorful. She was first encouraged to go into art by her grandmother, who taught her that beauty was all around her in the world and that even in a dead tree there is something to celebrate.
Christiane graduated from The Art Institute of Toronto in 2006.
She lives in a beautiful small town in the southwestern part of Ontario along with her husband, their dog, and their bunny.
