I paired this skin (in matte) with the matching clip case and it worked great. IMHO, the front pieces of the skin helped protect the screen from casual scratching that I'd get if I laid the phone face-down - even though the skins are thin, they were enough enough to hold the surface of the screen away from the surface of my desk, kitchen counter or nightstand.
