What size and type of image should I upload?

When in doubt, upload the largest image you have. The maximum upload size is 15MB and we'll let you know if your image is too small when you place it on the device. Check the charts above for the suggested minimum size for different device types. Use high quality JPG images, in RGB color, without any color profiles attached (as we have to strip them out anyway).

When you find art online, especially images or graphics, they're often optimized for digital viewing, which means they might be in a lower resolution. This lower resolution ensures faster loading times and smoother viewing experiences on screens like computers, phones, or tablets.

However, when it comes to printing these images, especially for larger formats or high-quality prints, the low-resolution artwork might not translate well. Printing requires higher resolution images to retain sharpness, detail, and overall quality.

Images designed for online viewing are typically around 72 to 96 dots per inch (DPI), whereas printing demands a much higher resolution, usually 300 DPI or more, to produce crisp and clear results. When low-resolution images are enlarged for print, they can appear pixelated, blurry, or lacking in detail.

It's like trying to stretch a small picture to fit a bigger frame—the quality diminishes because the image doesn't have enough information (pixels) to maintain clarity at a larger size.

For the best results, your uploaded images should be:
